Samsung to Launch Speech-to-Text Mobile Phones

Samsung Electronics, the world`s No. 2 mobile phone manufacturer, said Thursday it will launch two new mobile phones with a speech-to-text conversion capability, enabling users to send text messages using their voices.
The two models _ SGH-P207 and SPH-A800 _ are equipped with the speech-to-text feature, which it claims is the world`s first, Samsung Electronics said in a statement.
The devices are now available for the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show, a trade show in Las Vegas in the United States, and will debut on the U.S. market in late February.
Samsung Electronics spokesman Kim Hyun-min said the price for the phones were not been set yet.
The speech-to-text capability is now possible only for English speakers, the company said.
The SPH-A800 phone also comes with a 2-megapixel camera and other features such as a digital music player and electronic book, Samsung Electronics said.
