Baekun Lake



Description
Located in Hakui-dong, Uiwang-si, the lake is 253m in length and has a 36.6ha of surface area when it is full of water. It is an artificial lake completed in September 1953 and was used as a reservoir to provide the important agriculture water for Anyang and Pyeongtaek. However, when Pyeongchon was developed as a new city with the rice-growing area gone, the reservoir has become a place for leisure. It is surrounded by Mt.Baekunsan and Cheonggyesan and boasts of rich water and beautiful scenery because all steams form the valleys of the mountains eventually flow into the lake. In the lake, you can enjoy various water sports like a motor boat and water skiing. Around the area are built convenient facilities including nice restaurants and cafes.


Transportation
Bus: Indeokwon Station of the Blue Line (Ansan) to go out of Exit No. 4 (for prison) and take a bus for Baekun Lake (at a 30 minute interval, take about 30 minutes.)
Car: From Sadang of Seoul, take the road for Gunpo and turn left at the Indeokwon Intersection and go straight about 2.5Km and take a right when you see the sign saying "Baekun Lake" and go straight 1Km.
