The man-made Cheongpyeong Lake is the byproduct of the Cheongpyeong Dam which was constructed by blocking off the midstream of Bukhangang River. The lake is formed along the roadside leading from Daeseong-ri to Cheongpyeong. Daeseong-ri is the region past Guri-si and Namyangju-ri is the region past Guri-si and Namyangju-si from Seoul. Along the lakeside roads are a wide array of leisure and convenience facilities of varying scale that make it an excellent place to go for a day of fun and relaxation. Pleasure boats wait at the landing place on the northern part of the lake to take tourists on an enjoyable ride along the scenic Bukhangang River. However, Cheongpyeong Lake has more than just beautiful mountain and lake scenery to offer. Water sports, including water skiing, jet skiing and banana boating can be enjoyed It is, in fact, a four-season resort that is fully equipped with various amusement and accommodation facilities. Furthermore, towards the far end of the dam is Jojongcheon Stream, another tributary of the Bukhangang River. Here, innumerable amusement complexes are open throughout the year.
Bus: From Dong Seoul Terminal of Sangbong Bus Terminal, take the Chuncheon bound bus and get off at Cheongpyeong.
Train: From Cheongnyang-ri Station, take the Chuncheon bound Mugunghwa Train (departs 6 times a day) and get off at Cheongpyeong station (takes 50 minutes).
