Visa issuance

Visas are issued by overseas Korean embassies and consulates. Some foreigners who have stayed more than 90 days with the following types of visa, however, have the opportunity to apply for written recognition of visa issuance at the local immigration office in Korea, and by presenting the same to an overseas Korean embassy or consulate, where they will be able to obtain a visa very quickly without a separate examination.

- Persons who have the following types of visa are eligible to apply for written recognition of visa issuance in advance within the territory of the Republic of Korea prior to obtaining visas from overseas Korean embassies or consulates: C-4, D-4, D-7, D-8, D-9; E-5, E-7; F-3 based on the following visa classification:

Short-term Employment

-Recommendation of employment by any relevant authority chief
-Permission from the Ministry of Culture & Tourism

Sojourn Period: 90 days

Visa Status: D-4
General Trainee -Documents proving eligibility for training,admission to a school, or academic training program

Required Documents:
-Personal statement (resume)
-Guarantee of financial responsibility for the applicant's sojourn
-Notarized personal guarantee

Sojourn Period: 1 Year and extension

Visa Status:D-7
Employee of Foreign invested company

Required Documents:
-Application form
-Letter of invitation
-Notarized personal guarantee
-Personal statement (resume)
-Business registration (Company Register Certificate)
-Letter of appointment
-Permission for establishment of a branch or a liaison office
-Business plan
-List of company's foreignemployees

Sojourn Period: 2 Years and extension

Company Investor

Professional Employment -Application form

Specially designated Profession -Recommendation of employment by the chief of any relevant authority

Visa Status:F-3
Dependent -Application form
