Indian Women's Club to Visit Temple

May 23, 2005

Members of an Indian women's club, dubbed Annapurna, will visit Pomyong-sa Temple in Sillim-dong, southern Seoul, on Wednesday.

The trip to the temple is part of Annapurna's monthly meeting to learn Korean culture. It is designed to help promote understanding of Korea during their stay here.

"We try to learn something Korean through the monthly meeting," said Sujata Ray, president of the club. "This time we'd like to learn Korean Buddhism by visiting a temple."

After arriving at 11:30 a.m., the club members will have lunch and tea offered by the temple.
The membership of the club, comprising the wives of Indian diplomats and residents in the country, is open to any Indian women living or working in the country.

Those who want to join the club can get information from the Indian Embassy in Seoul by calling (02) 798-4257.
