Signing strategic memorandum of understanding(MOU) for cooperation in IT area with the government of Catalunya, Spain.

- Comprehensive IT cooperation comprising IT technology cooperation , local market expansion etc.; securing opportunity for market leadership in Spain¡¯s SI market

- Agreement reached on major items for market expansion, such as e-government? finance?RFID and broadcasting SI

- Signed MOU with Barcelona Chamber of Commerce as well , as a preparatory step for entering market

- Proving again HIT¡¯s IT technology competence and competitive strength in overseas markets

- Establishing base for expanding into the European market, with ¡®Barcelona-Gateway of Europe¡¯ as a strategic foothold

HIT, which is the most active SI company in overseas projects, has started addressing Spain¡¯s IT market in full-scale.

HIT(www .hit. co. kr) announced on the 23rd this month that it has signed the ¡®Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) for Cooperation in the IT(Information Technology Area¡¯ with the government of Catalunya, Spain.

Mr.Carles Sola, Minister of Information and Communications of the government of Catalunya,Spain, who visited Seoul to participate in the Seoul Digital Forum, and Mr.Baek Won In, CEO of HIT, recently signed the memorandum of understanding at HIT¡¯s Yongin Research Institute; more than 20 IT representatives of Catalunya, including Mr.Migel Bales, Chairman of Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, were present at the contract signing ceremony.

¢º Spain consists of 17 autonomous communities; its constitution provides government authorities to each autonomous community. Catalunya is the largest community , with Barcelona as its capital. Catalunya is in the process of establishing a masterplan for telecommunications with an intention of becoming Europe¡¯s IT power through fostering of new IT technologies and reorganization of regulations; related funds have been prepared.

Following to the signing of the MOU, the government of Catalunya ,Spain and HIT will carry out comprehensive cooperation in the IT area such as IT technology cooperation and infrastructure establishment, including participation in the e-government project set out by Catalunya¡¯s government.

In addition, major local companies such as La Caixa, Spain¡¯s No.1 financial company,and Abertis, a broadcasting group, which visited Korea as part of Catalunya¡¯s IT representatives, reached an agreement on HIT¡¯s participation in their current IT projects and technology cooperation.
For this, HIT has signed an MOU for cooperation in the IT are not only with Catalunya¡¯s government but also with the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce thereby securing a base for expanding into the local IT market.
