Awarded contract for the ¡®u-Museum Service Implementation Project¡¯ of National Museum of Contemporary Art, an RFID pilot project

HIT, which is taking rapid steps in addressing future-oriented businesses, is also showing its leadership in the RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) area which has emerged as a prospective next-generation business area.
HIT(www. hit. co. kr) announced on the 5th this month that it has been awarded the ¡®u-Museum Implementation Project¡¯ of National Museum of Contemporary Art and started implementation of this project.
The purpose of this project is to provide a variety of information about the museum¡¯s exhibits to visitors through RFID tags operating in the 800MHz band attached to exhibits and mobile RFID readers.
HIT, which has been selected as the contractor for this project, will implement exhibit information service using RFIDs as well as state-of-the-art u-museum service such as position information, exhibit information, help service, repository entry/exit management etc.; for this, a system comprising RFID tags appropriate to the characteristics of exhibits and applicable to various exhibits, RFID mobile readers, RFID information DB and wired/wireless networking will be implemented.
Once this project is completed, the visitors of National Museum of Contemporary Art will be able to check the location of the desired exhibit through wireless LAN by using mobile RFID readers and receive services such as author and exhibit information while being able to enjoy the exhibits in a more systematic manner even after watching the exhibits through various tailored information services.
In addition, the National Museum of Contemporary Art expects to achieve improved efficiency in exhibit management processes such as repository management, exhibit entry/exit and history management and position verification as well as savings in management costs , based on RFID technology and a ubiquitous environment established through wired/wireless integrated environment.
