Jeonghyesaji 13-Story Stone Pagoda
The Most Peculiar Stone Pagoda of the Silla Dynasty
Jeonghyesaji 13-story stone pagoda stands at the site of Jeonghyesa which was constructed during the Silla Dynasty.
This stone pagoda has a quite peculiar form compared to the other pagodas built in the same period.
The first step was made by laying a flat stone on the four pillars like other stone pagodas. However, from the second step to the 13th step were built with only roof stones without setting up posts.
This pagoda is designated National Treasure No.40.
