Shilla Festival

 

The Shilla Festival provides a wide range of performances and parades to reenact cultural activities and to commemorate various achievements of the Shilla period. The festival honors the dauntless and pioneering spirit of those who helped to unify the three kingdoms (Koguryo, Paekche, and Shilla) in ancient Korea in order to establish the Unified Shilla Kingdom. The festival offers visitors and patrons, a convenient means to appreciate aspects of Korean tradition and culture, both past and present, by hosting such events as, an introduction to Korea's traditional alcoholic beverages and rice cakes, the Yowon dance performance, the Taechita parade which highlights a Korean traditional royal music ceremony, and a parade for past Kings.
