It is the largest work along with the Gilt-bronze Seated Maitreya (National Treasure No 78) that is kept in National Center Museum. The height is 93.5 cm. It is told that it was found in Gyeongju in the 1920's, but there remains no record about it. It's called the Seated Triad in Meditation in wearing the crown like mountain with three facets round.
The face near circle is rich and fleshy with a smile at the corner of the mouth and in an upper eyelid. With the bust naked there is no ornament except two-lined necklace. The right leg is on the pedestal designed with lotus flower and the left foot is on the lap of the right leg. The right hand grasped the left ankle with the left elbow on the lap and the fingers of left hand supporting the jaw. the skirt covering the lower half of the body was treated so thinly, so it showed the shape well. The train covering the pedestal designed with the lotus flower was sculptured so naturally and gracefully. The hem of skirt with the beads stitched is downward to the left side. At the back of the head, there is the long point of joint that seemed to fix the Halo-like nimbus into it.
It is the masterful molding technique as a sculpture faced delicately in the simple and balanced expression of body, the folds of robe treated dimensionally and naturally, the eyes, nose and mouth sculptured clearly. The benignity that is felt in a smooth smile adds the nobleness as a religious sculpture. It is considered as a work made around the late Three Kingdoms Period in that it is older than the Gilt-bronze Seated Maitreya.
